Long story short, my old tablet+computer+graphics program are no longer useable, so i'm on a WHOLE NEW SYSTEM with a newer tablet that i'm not familiar with, and a graphics program i'm even less familiar with.

Sooooo, I need to practice hardcore to get good enough to draw things I can actually share with people.

Please give me some prompts! I promise that I will at least try to do each one of them. Nothing too complicated, please, I'm just trying to get used to the new tablet & program.

Alsoooo, does anyone know of any cheap or free graphics programs? Now all I have is photoshop CS4, and I don't love it. I really don't like GIMP, and I can't get Paint Tool Sai (my program of choice) to work on my laptop.

So, I fell asleep and then I woke up three hours later because of nightmares, so of course I'm craving horror. However, I've already read all of my horror books and ebooks, and I've listened to ALLLLL of pseudopod (if you're a fan of horror and podcasts, go and give them a listen! The host, Alisdair, is FANTASTIC, and while the stories are *sometimes* not super, the readers almost always are.) and I don't feel like combing through the garbage at r/nosleep to find something good. I'm not really in the mood for reading, anyway, even if it's something short. (There's a fic I wanted to read that seemed right up my alley, but I closed the tab and now I forgot the name of it or who wrote it, but it was too long for my current attention span.)

Plus, Halloween's coming up. Yay Halloween!

Long story short, I feel like trying to write some horror. Do you have any prompts for me? a couple of words, an outline, SPN, original, it doesn't matter. I don't know if I'll be successful at writing horror, but I'd love to try, I just can't think of where to start /o\

Also I am EVEN MORE HEARTBROKEN that Silent Hills was cancelled, because I just found out that my favorite artist, Junji Ito, was working on the project. Oh, Woe! TT___TT

Good news! My boyfriend will be getting his first disability check at the first of next month :)

We don't know when he's getting his backpay, but it's not going to be much as he's not getting much monthly (but enough to get us by! \o/) The backpay's going toward work on our car, which is fine, because the car needs the work and we wouldn't be able to do it otherwise :)

Thanks to all you kind and giving souls who helped us out through our time of trouble. Without your generosity, I don't know where we'd be right now. Or how we'd get there.

In other news, I've been very depressed for months now. I had a few days where I thought I was starting to see the light, but nope, back in the hole. I'm not going to talk too much about that, but it *has* been affecting my drawing (if you've noticed, I haven't been a posting machine lately.) I've been hardcore artblocked for a couple of months. /o\

So commissions are taking longer than expected. Those of you who have commissioned me, please be patient - I never intended to just take the money and run. I may have to do some self-indulgent arting to get the juices to flow again, if they will flow anytime soon, so if you see non-commissioned stuff pop up, that's what's going on.

If you commissioned me and you'd like a refund because you don't want the wait, that's entirely understandable, and I'd be happy to work with you. Just send me a PM or an email. Though please bear in mind that you may not be the only one wanting a refund, so I may have to spread them out over time or set up payment plans, and I won't be able to send out any money back until next month. I hope that'll work out okay with everyone involved.

In OTHER other news, I can't wait for the Hellatus to be over! Only one more month! :D The Darkness, here we come!

Secondly, oh man I am biting my fingernails for the spn-j2-bigbang claims! I can't wait to see all the prompts that go up on Friday. I'm usually onn the art side of these, so it's a new kind of excitement for me, being a writer this year, and a new kind of nervousness, hoping someone will pick our story! I can't wait, ahhhh!

Thirdly, hi, how have you all been? I've not been around much as I was having a really rough time of it for a while, but I've been doing better lately :) Now I'm working on draft revisions and commissions, so I'm keeping busy. Plus I've started to go to Zumba twice a week, and it's fun, even if I can't get through the whole hour yet. I am out of shape, lol.

So I'm off to Zumba right now. If I'm in the mood, there may be a livestream later. o/

I think I'm going to take a short hiatus from fandom. I think. Reading my flist, which is full of incredible, smart, funny, talented people, has been perversely depressing me? Idk either. I'm still going to keep an eye on

wedraweveryday, and I'm still working on commissions and drawing stuff offline, but other than that I probably won't be around much.

You guys keep being awesome, and I'll be back around sooner or later :)

I just wanted to ETA to add that if you're posting stuff about your RL, that's not what's bothering me, so don't feel bad or anything! Strangely, it's the happy posts that make me the saddest.

I love fandom fests. Kink memes, comment memes, bangs, exchanges. Right now I'm signed up for two, and I'm so conflicted on whether to do more! I've got commissions to work on, which take priority and which I can usually keep going strong on while doing other stuff, and I did decide to do art for the samdean-otp minibang (got a great, sweet author!) and I'm trying to figure out if I want to do a second piece for spn-reversebang (already have one piece turned in) and now I'm trying so hard to decide if i want to sign up for Cake Swap! *bites nails*

I love podficcing, and I love getting gifts in return, but it seems like it would be so hard to find fics to podfic that would suit people's likes and dislikes. I also can't think of any fics off the top of my head that I'd like to have podficced for me, other than my own because I love it when people record my fics. But I don't know if it would be proper etiquette to ask for that, lol.

Hello friends! I've been kind of absent from livejournal for a while, but I'm trying to ease back in. Art block is the WORST, and when I'm art blocked I'm usually blocked in other areas, too. So I haven't been very internet social. I think my arting powers are coming back though, and I'm feeling better in general. So hopefully I'll be back LJing all the time!
