It was lovely to work with riyku again, and her fic is deliciously dark and well-written, with necromancers and resurrections and witches and killings and agh, I love dark!Winchesters so much, and she does a wonderful job with them. I regret that I wasn't able to put together any more art for the challenge, but it's not because the story isn't fantastic! Go and give it a read! :D

That art is super dark.. Sam is really creeeeeeepy and Dean looks like a zombie from the walking dead. riyku is such a good writer.. I'll definitely give this a peek.

I've been waiting since reveals day for your posting day... you two are a power team- awesome writer, awesome artist. I'm kind of hoping post stays locked for a little while longer, because I have work that I HAVE to do, and it's just not going to happen if that link opens up.

Super creepy art! The detail that catches my eye is the dirt road under the Impala. Makes me think of one of my all time favorite short stories- Mrs. Todd's Shortcut by Stephen King.

Did you make this one darker than the original version? I love the lighting firstly, and the predatory look you've given Sam and Dean. Sam looks like a tiger or some sort of big cat (actually he reminds me of the big dog-guy in Dark Angel, I forget his name...), and Dean looks like he'd kill you as soon as blink... Can't wait for the fic to be unlocked!

I didn't make it darker, but I did make the sun a little brighter, so there's a little more contrast. Thank you! I loved making them over as creepazoids, lol, and I love how they lend themselves to different kinds of crazy. :)

PS I'm eh, I wanna say yeah, but nope. I'll make it through, though. There's always an upswing to the downswing :)

Unf. Such dark interpretations of Sam an Dean; the shading on their faces, their evil expressions. The blood smears and dark trees add to the whole eery feel of this piece. I love the lettering too! Good stuff.

sorry to get a little spammy, but I'm finally getting caught up on life

Have I told you recently that you're the best? 'Cause you're absolutely the best. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, 'lo these many months later I'm still in love with this artwork. The coloring, the forest like bookends, the hazy light and the almost non-color of the sky. Not to mention the boys here. Beautifully creepy and driven, a similar intensity about their eyes, Sam's wicked grin and Dean's thigh holster of porn. And all the little details, like the blood on the cuffs of their pants, the new scars they carry. Let's not forget about the dividers! I love them both so much, and thank you for taking the hawthorne theme and working it into them. Brilliant!

Wow, that is a TERRIFYING version of Sam. The hazy barely-there sun and the shadows reaching in towards them, in completely the wrong direction, really add to the creep factor.
