First off, welcome, new friends! I've gotten such a warm and slightly lascivious welcome to the fandom that I hardly know what to do with myself. SPN fandom and people in it, you are amazing.

I am just... overwhelmed, at the sheer volume of content this fandom produces. Not just content, but EXCELLENT content. I guess it doesn't help that I'm still going through the backlog; a lot of the classics are new to me. Which is kind of cool.

I swear, one day I'm gonna read ALL the Wincest fic, and all fic for the other pairings that have snagged my interest (Samifer, Sassy, why must you tempt me so? Guess I know who my fandom bicycle is. My fave will always be Sam/Dean, though ♥. Though bearded Ghostfacers dude/shy intern runs a close second, some days, and I'm not even sure if I'm kidding. So tragic, their love!) Oh yeah, and I'm going to write some more fic, too, because there are aspects of Sam/Dean that I'd love to get up to my elbows in and explore ;)

But right now, I have so many arts I want to art. Working on minibang art for an awesome story, need to post up a Samifer pic. Also, I want to do a series of the Bearded Men of Supernatural. I've already got a Chuck done, haha, now all I need are Bobby, John, Alistair, the Ghostfacers dude, Henrickson's sharp little beard... Crowley's got a beard, yeah? And does Lucifer? he's skirting the line. Castiel's skirting it even more. Am I forgetting any beards? Haha, I may end up with just the Chuck picture. GOOD ENOUGH! because Chuck is awesome. I'm actually considering a paid account just for more icon space so I can have icons for all these cool characters. I mean, I've already bought extra icons for my free account, lol, but I am a hoarder.

Additionally, I may start livestreaming when I draw in the near future. I've done it before; it's a lot of fun. I don't know if that's a thing in this fandom or not. If I do, I'll put up a journal about it, and maybe people will come, haha.

Livestreaming? What would you stream? *is intrigued*

I know what you mean about this fandom - I joined late; kind of sidled in like a crab and I'm only just now starting to really get involved, so I admire you for diving straight in the deep end! But there is sooooooo much good stuff, especially the art and the fics, it is kind of overwhelming. I still haven't finished reading all the Big Bangs from last year, and have a folder full of this year's to read... The various reccing communities are good - if you aren't following those it's worth joining.

I'd stream my desktop while I drew in photoshop or paint tool sai, and it would be some kind of SPN art :) It's fun--I've found that I like drawing with an audience, it puts me under a little bit of good pressure and makes me try a little harder to make my art look good, plus real-time "that arm looks wrong" type criticism is also very helpful!--and the chat section can be a lot of fun, too.

Ah, I had about six months of listening to podfic before I dove in, so at least I got a little head start. I have joined a few reccing comms, plus the daily/weekly recap comms, and those help. I save a lot of the recced fic and stick it on my modded DS or my Kindle thing for reading when I'm away from the computer. It's like you *need* multiple platforms to even halfway keep up, lol. Alas, I don't have a smartphone, or it might be a little easier, haha.

Good luck on catching up!

Ha ha my kindle is chock full of fics too...

I'd love to watch a live stream drawing session! What a great idea.

Actually, I have a question for you. If you draw something on paper then scan it into GIMP/photoshop, would you consider it cheating to correct erriors in your draftsmanship digitally? Does it devalue one's art?

Well, hmmm. If it was my call, I wouldn't say it was cheating, at all. It just wouldn't be wholly traditional art--it would be digitally enhanced traditional art? I don't know, that makes it sound like "digital" is better, when they're really just two different animals. Maybe I'd just say a work was created traditionally and touched up in whatever program.

Does it devalue one's art? I... I don't know, lol. I think if someone is a strictly traditional artist and they use photoshop to fix mistakes, but still call it strictly traditional, that's kind of iffy, because the physical copy of the art isn't going to be the same. But if what you're looking for is the best finished image possible, and using a graphics program to edit your drawings makes them better, then that's a good thing, right?

You may be asking the wrong person, haha. I don't really have training aside from a few years of high school art, and I rarely use traditional media these days--I just manipulate shapes and lines and colors in Paint Tool Sai until I like the way it looks, haha.

And yay, thanks for the friending! I've friended you back :)

the last time I studied art there was no digital it was that long ago! LOL
I guess I'm not selling anything anyway so I don't know why I'm thinking there might be something "wrong" with what I'm doing - I just get so excited that I can now do a pencil sketch, stick it into GIMP then fiddle around with it until that too long nose is the right length - IDK, it's kind of like Christmas bwhahah!
