Day One

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

1) The second fic I wrote in the fandom is still my favorite, by a nose. When Sammy Was Twenty-Four is gen Sam&Dean h/c, Dean POV, with them talking about growing up together while Dean gets over some cracked ribs. Some stream-of-consciousness going on, and idk, is it weird to read your own fic when you need cheering up? I hope not, because I come back to this one.

2) The other one that's just a nose behind is And you would be a fool. It's case!curse!h/c!schmoop!humor!light Wincest!fic from Sam's POV, and it also cheers me up when I've had a rough day. Especially listening to [livejournal.com profile] fantamae's podfic of it, which is just glorious. I am so pleased that someone podficced my fic, and so well! And the story still kinda cracks me up. See, I started out the whole fandom thing years ago as a writer, and slowly transitioned to doing mostly art. But my fics, i still hold pretty dear to my heart, as I feel they're a little more revealing of who I am, I suppose.

3) A Dead Man the Voyage Brought Back podfic, original story by [livejournal.com profile] smilla02. I am still a bit sheepish about posting podfic, not entirely confident in that arena of fanwork. But this is one I feel like I nailed, reading, sound effects, voices and cover art, and I loved reading Gordon so much that idk, I want to search out more Gordon fics to read one day. Hurt! Dean is also a plus for me. It's Gordon + Dean gen, NC-17 for gore and language, and about 45 minutes long.

Day 2

In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.

1) [livejournal.com profile] amplificathon, and by extension, the podfic archive at audiofic.jinjurly.com. It's great to have a place to post and find podfic of any fandom, and the maintainers of the jinjurly site put so much work and love into it that I'm amazed. That's where I first dove into the SPN fandom, and I must have listened to a half of the Wincest fanfics (there are over 600!) before making this journal and deciding to attempt to be part of the fandom community.

2) [livejournal.com profile] samdean_otp.Love their tags, love the community, love the minibang. This was where I first participated in a fandom collaborative effort, with the 2011 minibang, and I was lucky to be paired with the talented and patient [livejournal.com profile] riyku. I think Wipe The Clock is my favorite collaboration ever, and I did so much art for it! It was a blast. I'm afraid that these days I can't live up to the volume of art that I put in on that one, but I remember just how much fun I had drawing away and getting pieces of the story, and it makes me grin every time.

3) [livejournal.com profile] salt_burn_porn. What can i say about s-b-p? I love it dearly, and some of the prompted 24-hour-turnaround fics posted there are my favorites of all time. Perfect length, just enough time for the author to get dirty but not second-guess themselves, and I love the creative ways the authors use their prompts. If you like smut and you're not watching this comm, you should be! it is deliciousssss.

4) Gotta have one more slot for [livejournal.com profile] rocksalt_recs. It's so slick and professional and organized, and I've found some of the best stuff through that comm! I also had the chance to be an invited reccer one month, and I loved it, though i didn't rec as many works as i originally wanted to. Kudos to the mods for keeping it going strong for so long!

5) Carving out a 5th spot for my favorite place on the internet, (that I almost forgot! And me owning the t-shirt and optional subscription and everything!) pseudopod.org. It's a free horror podfic archive that updates weekly. The stories are varied and almost uniformly excellent for all their variety, and they're wonderfully read, as well, whether it's by members of the pseudopod staff or the numerous other readers they bring on. The host for the last few years, Alasdair Stuart, is smart and open and funny and warm, has a lovely accent, and has the most insightful things to say that sometimes, I like his endcaps as much or more than the podfics themselves. If you're a horror fan at all, you should go and see what's up over there :) They also have sister podcasts, Escapepod (for sci-fi) and Podcastle (for fantasy) which they link to on their page, if that's more your thing.

Day 3 is for other recs, over which I'll have to stew for a while. I love so many fanworks!!! maybe I'll have to go with a theme or something.

You didn't rec a single one of your artings! I wish I was into listening more but I would always rather read than be read to...always have. I was going to send my hubby the pad cast recs you have here but he would be scared by the horror and has no real interest in sci fi or fantasy so I won't bother. He doesn't know what he's missing!
