Having a slumber party with the cats!

We're about 2/3 of the way moving (I think?) and the cats are still at the old place. I see them at least once a day, and have been spending some nights with them. I came over early tonight, thinking I'd get some internet + cat time.



First I forgot we had moved all active computers to the apartment already, so I used the one that was kind of patched up to the tv. This tv is BIG. and the screen resoultion can's be better than 800x600 or you can't read anything. As it is, trying to read it gives me a headache, anyway.


See the size of thoase LJ icons? haha. I find that it works better if i take off my glasses and pretend i can barely see anyway, so the weird doubled vision doesn't even come into it. (ignore the mess pls, moving counts as a mess excuse right?)

So well, I was trying to overcome these difficulties, when suddenly i had a lapcat. i donm't know if you can either see this picturem it's probably too dark:


no computer time, me time, he says. the other cats says the same thing. so i let them swarm me, and i pet them until both my legs fell asleep, and then i remembered that i meant to make a progress post and say HI! to you guys.

So in short: Moving is going reasonably well, no accidents or broken glass or broken bones. My cats are adorable and very warm. And thank you for all the wonderful comments! I miss being a part of this commuinity and hope to be again very soon, but now i'm tired and must get some sleep. See you around soon!

i had no idea moving could take so long... i've always done a 24-hour move, but i don't have a lot of stuff (well, it always feels like a lot when i move, but i can still fit most of it into my truck with maybe a hitch).

enjoy your kitty / internet time. that guy looks pretty serious about needing attention.

Haha, well, we moved from a house that was waaaaaaaaaayyyyy bigger than the two of us could handle, to a house that was much bigger than the two of us needed, to a house that room for us and some to spare (plus a garage to store things) into an apartment building which is juuust about the right size for us, if we had less stuff and no cats. (Keeping the cats, though, and I can't wait until we can bring them over.)

The first big chunks of the move were spent on going through all the THINGS we had gathered through the years, and figuring out what to keep/trash/donate. That was taking so long though, so now we've just been throwing things into boxes and taping them up, and we'll go through them at the apartment, lol.

lol, he is really serious about his attention. Sometimes he just wants esactly one head pet, so he'll reach up and touch your leg. You pet his head, and he's done, and walks off, haha. I love that little guy.

Thank you! He really is a pretty cat. Even my bf, who is a dog person, asked me when the cat was a kitten, "Is he especially good looking for a cat?" lol. I love grey/brown tabbies.

Yeah, it is taking so lonnnnggggg. A big part of the problem is that we started out with stuff that fit perfectly well in a house 5 times the size of the apartment, lol. We've moved a few times since then (and had a place to store our extra stuff) but we're finally moving into a small place with no storage. So we've had to sort out so much stuff, omg.

I know all about sorting things.. OMG when we moved I had to get rid of sooooo much stuff. It looked like I was a hoarder. I still have too much stuff well in the way of antique furniture anyway. I don't want to part with my antiques.. argh.

Good luck sorting and sifting, maybe you could have a yard sale and turn some of it into cash.. =D

I wish I had known earlier about all of the art you'd been posting the last few months, I was a bit worried you had fallen off the face of the internet. But I'm glad you've been arting and writing. I guess I have to watch Supernatural sooner rather than later so I can fully appreciate your stories...

I knew it was you when I looked at your profile to friend you :) I should have said something then! /o\ It's good that we're friends over here now, though :)

Ahhhhh, see, when i started messing around in the SPN fandom, my art block just went poof! and I thought I'd just mess around for a while, then go back to Bleach fandom and back to y!gal. Buuut, I just kept drawing SPN! At first I'd been pretty much anonymous, and I was hesitant to say "hey guys, this is my new account/fandom/kinky stuff" because, you know, they know me for other things, might not be into what I'm into, might judge me a little for it... as much as I'm all for ykinmkatok, I know for sure that not everyone else feels that way, and I felt kind of... delicate, idk. A little sensitive about it, and I'm not even sure why. Partly because after three or four months, I felt like I was totally cheating on my old fandom and you guys, and that made it even harder to share my new username!

Haha, but yeah, that scare kind of forced it. I know I haven't been around y! much, but I don't want to lose touch with everybody, whether it's still up, or not.

Oh, cool. I didn't remember what my profile had in it, I just looked and saw that it indeed did have the pickleweasel name. I could have made I just use this journal to track other people's journals. But yay for being friends here too now!

Ahhh, I see, thanks for the explanation. I would tell you "don't worry what other people think about you and your art and your pairings or kinks!" but I know it's hard. You have so many people who watch you on the old account, and it that population there's bound to be a person or two who might be rude enough to bash or say something that would really rub you the wrong way - I mean you did have to put in your LS announcements for people to not pairing/kink bash. And you are also trying to be considerate of your followers (I mean, y!gal doesn't have a way to block incest for people whom it squicks, for example). But in general, it sucks that you felt uncomfortable sharing with everyone that hey, you were still arting, just focusing on a new fandom.

I do hope y! stays up and things get worked out. There have been meetings but no formal announcement yet. If it goes poof, I know where to keep up with most people, but will have to comb through their other sites to catch up on their recent stuff as I have 180 things in my inbox at the moment... so busy with teaching, lesson planning, grading... But it's the COMMUNITY that matters the most, damn it. That's why I'm there.
