Long story short, my old tablet+computer+graphics program are no longer useable, so i'm on a WHOLE NEW SYSTEM with a newer tablet that i'm not familiar with, and a graphics program i'm even less familiar with.

Sooooo, I need to practice hardcore to get good enough to draw things I can actually share with people.

Please give me some prompts! I promise that I will at least try to do each one of them. Nothing too complicated, please, I'm just trying to get used to the new tablet & program.

Alsoooo, does anyone know of any cheap or free graphics programs? Now all I have is photoshop CS4, and I don't love it. I really don't like GIMP, and I can't get Paint Tool Sai (my program of choice) to work on my laptop.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi! I'd love to help with prompts. Are you looking for anything specific, like people, or places, landscapes, animals...? And how specific within those categories? Lol. Like, do you want "man fishing from a dock" or "Dean Winchester pretending to fish on a dock when really he's hunting the Loch Ness monster"? Because I can go either way ;)

How about Sam researching? Gives you a familiar model to work with and leaves the surroundings open to interpretation.

How about weapons training? Make of that whatever you want, or ignore it hard. ;)

I think there might be a free version of Art Rage out there somewhere, and I've heard good things about it! (Though I've never used it myself.) If I think of any other programs, I'll ping you.

Prompt: rain :D

Try drawing the Impala, she's got enough curves for it to be interesting but also enough straight lines for it to be uniform and get you used to the technical side of the tablet :) Good luck with it bb, so sorry your system screwed up!

Oh noes! You've lost PaintTool Sai too! I miss it SO MUCH! I can't find any app that seems to do the beautiful blending Sai did - I've tried CS6, GIMP and Corel Paint. If you do find anything, let me know!

I used to draw in Sai but after I got used to PS I don't think I'll ever need another program to do a better job. Maybe what you need is a set of good brushes. You can search online, I guess there's a lot of brush sharing out there.

I haven't tried it myself, but I hear FireAlpaca is very similar to Paint Tool SAI. It's free, I think.

As for a prompt, how about Worn Out. ;)
