I'm super-excited that thursdaysisters and I got lucky enough to have the wonderfully talented sophiap snag our summary for spn-j2-bigbang. SUPER-EXCITED. She's already read it (and says she loves it! :D) and has already thrown some incredible ideas our way. So not only was the story super-fun to write, all mind-bendy and sexy with magic and UST and violence and Lovecraft, and thursdaysisters' spot-on, appropriately angsty and hilarious Dean voice, but I don't know if we could have found an artist better suited to the story ♥ SUPER-EXCITED, I SAY.

Here's the summary, if you're interested:

Title: Sam Winchester's Guide to Blood Magic, or How the Rockies Were Made
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Sam/Dean
Summary: The Apocalypse occurred in 2009 when Sam and Dean accidentally unsealed Lucifer's Cage. Or did it? Dean finds a battered journal recounting events he doesn't remember, Sam finds out that H. P. Lovecraft was a prophet, and this starts them on a path of mystery and mayhem that has them scouring secret government facilities and traveling to Arkham itself to find the answers of this past that never was. They find the answers, how they averted the Deep Ones' Apocalypse, how they destroyed Cthulhu himself and raised mountain ranges, how they once were together, as they fight robots and monsters and men and their own emerging memories and desires. Sam must fulfill Prophecy and become a Deep God in his own right before they can put things to rest. Set in (slightly alternate) Season 9 without mention of the MoC.
Warnings: constantly shifting POV, violence, gore, explicit sometimes rough sex, surreal elements, creepy children

I was also excited to see the reveals, and I can't wait to see all the wonderful art and fic that comes from the fest :D wendy is such a gift to fandom for putting this together.

:D I squealed a little bit when I saw sophiap's claim comment, and I couldn't wait for wendy to confirm it so I could contact her. I had to hold back some of my flailing when I messaged her so she wouldn't think I was a maniac, lol.

I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to snag this story! It is SO GOOD and I'm still all flaily about it. I just hope I can do it justice!

I am really looking forward to getting down to work on some sketches this weekend. This is going to be so much fun!
